With the kind permission of Vice Admiral G. O. WILLES, C.B., and Commodore CUMING, on and after Tuesday, the 1st proximo, a Red Ball will be dropped from the main topmast head of H.M.S. "Victor Emanuel" daily. Sundays excepted, at one o'clock mean time at Hongkong, which is in Longitude 114° 10' 02" East. Equal in time to 7h. 36m. 40s.
The Ball will be hoisted to the level of the Main Cap at five minutes before one, and hoisted to the topmast-head at three minutes to one.
If any error has been made, the ball will at once be hoisted to the level of the Main Cap. At five minutes after one it will be hoisted to the topmast-head, and dropped at ten minutes after one.
